I quite recently got thrown into the world of corporate. The hustle. The bustle. The noise. It’s not only left me confused at times. It quite often left me questioning my self worth.

This could be a battle between the imposter syndrome where I am constantly trying to prove that I belong. With a dash of… How do I make sure I please managers and seniors and everyone involved?

Don’t get me wrong. There is absolutely nothing wrong with pushing yourself to climb whatever ladder but if it leaves you at a point where you not only question your worth and begin to serve people’s expectations… It could end up disastrous.

So what happens when you don’t meet other peoples expectations?

You begin to believe you are worthless and cannot contribute value. You begin to question your calling and the “why” of it all. You lose motivation.

A wise man once said, “If the approval of man is what calls you and motivates you. Then it is the approval of man that will destroy you. “

Protect yourself and the expectations that people place on you.

Stay blessed.
