Christmas Office Party Etiquette

Tis the season to be jolly!

You either are really happy that the years about to end or are just extremely fatigued and just want to get rid of the years stress. Whichever it is this blog post could be for you.

Its my first time going to an office christmas party and I genuinely am unsure of what I should do, how I should behave or what I should even wear. So I thought lets sit down and write a blog of all the information I have gathered.

We genuinely don’t want to embarrass ourselves at this years Christmas party.

Don’t arrive late

Well this one is kinda straightforward. If you are like me and don’t really enjoy being around people. You could be tempted to come in the last 20 minutes of the event. Instead… Maybe arrive on time and leave a few moments before the end. You don’t wanna look like the weirdo and miss all the chitter and chatter amongst colleagues.

Don’t get too merry

I mean…. Don’t get too drunk okay? I mean its still a professional environment and the last thing you want to do is stuff that you might later regret. If you have watched the movie the Office Christmas Party in 2016 then you know what I mean okay?

Dress appropriately

This years office party theme is the carnival so the below outfit will not be appropriate okay?

Guest list

Please make sure you ask the organizers who can come. The last thing you wanna do is bring a spouse to your christmas party especially during this pandemic.

Mix and mingle

This is your huge opportunity to network with people above you and even those on your level. You never know what kind of connections could come through that small interaction. You could even meet the love of your life.

I hope this blog post helps someone out there and feel free to drop any tips you have on Christmas party etiquette.

Stay blessed.
