Watch your tone

Part 3 of our love series for the month of love

If you were to talk to your four year old self the way you talk to yourself.

What would you sound like?

How would she feel?

Would she be broken by how you speak towards her?

Would she feel loved and cared for?

Would she be disappointed in your words?

Self love.

To love on yourself.

Loving on yourself means speaking kindly to yourself. There are many instances I’ve spoken so negatively towards myself that I truly believe that four year old me would have been left brutally broken and hurt.

I think it’s because we live in a world that expects nothing but perfection. Instagram is only filled with perfect pictures. We are constantly comparing ourselves that most likely than not our inner voice is speaking in how “not good” enough we are.

May this blog post be a gentle reminder to watch your tone. Watch how you speak to yourself.

The Bible speaks on “as a man thinketh so is he”.

So are you. You are your thoughts. You are the words you utter to your soul and spirit. Watch your mouth. Watch how you speak to yourself.

Speak kindly to yourself.

Speak softly to yourself.

Be gentler on yourself.

Give yourself the love you deserve with your words.

This is another form of self love.

Stay blessed in this beautiful month of love.
